KAMBARA KISEN Co., Ltd. (HQ: 1083 Tsuneishi, Numakuma-cho, Fukuyama-shi, Hiroshima; Representative Director and President: Hirotatsu Kambara) has completed the construction of three owned container carriers for its Japan-China regular service and inaugurated ORIENTAL ARROW, the third vessel, on 17th August.

KAMBARA KISEN launched its Japan-China regular container service in 1994, which features direct services between key Chinese ports and local Japanese ports, and especially frequent services from Shanghai to Fukuyama (Hiroshima Prefecture), Mizushima (Okayama Prefecture), and Hiroshima (Hiroshima Prefecture) with two sailings each week. These routes are highly popular with many customers.

The company has mainly utilised chartered ships for the Japan-China regular service, and is now adding owned vessels for the first time in four years to improve its services.

The vessels have been named SCARLET ARROW, CRYSTAL ARROW, and ORIENTAL ARROW through an in-house contest. The names were chosen with consideration of regional and national character, the corporate beliefs of the TSUNEISHI Group, and wishes for business stability and growth.

KAMBARA KISEN will continue to expand its service network centred on the Japan-China regular container service to reach Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, contributing to the revitalisation of communities and development of regional economies as a provider of international transport.

Background of Naming:
We chose the name ARROW for this series, based on the feudal lord Mori Motonari’s ¡°Legend of the three arrows¡±, and then combined feminine words with ARROW, taking care to select names that shippers will easily and correctly recognise. We aim to provide the best services available with these three vessels.

(1) Vessel name: SCARLET ARROW
? Inauguration: 17th May 2017
? Specifications: 18.3 Knots / Cap: 1020 TEU
? Vessel name origin
Scarlet red epitomises the TSUNEISHI spirit of ¡°Be Proactive!¡± Considered a passionate colour, SCARLET is the perfect name for the eldest of the three sister ships.

(2) Vessel name: CRYSTAL ARROW
? Inauguration: 13th July 2017
? Specifications: 18.3 Knots / Cap: 1020 TEU
? Vessel name origin
The unblemished, transparent colour of crystal epitomises the TSUNEISHI spirit of ¡°Have Vision!¡± and ¡°Be Considerate and Kind!¡± The future that is reflected in uncoloured, transparent crystal is something we colour ourselves. This ship name represents the flexible second sister who supports her older and younger sisters while growing more radiant herself.

(3) Vessel name: ORIENTAL ARROW
? Inauguration: 17th August 2017
? Specifications: 18.3 Knots / Cap: 1020 TEU
? Vessel name origin
¡°Oriental¡± represents our roots, epitomising the TSUNEISHI spirit of ¡°Aim for the Top!¡± and ¡°Stand United!¡± Our staff in Japan and China have collaborated to create and launch the Japan-China regular container service, which has expanded into the Southeast Asian region today. With the goal of upholding our pride in our Asian heritage, and in cooperation with the staff in China, we will continue to provide the superior level of service our customers have come to expect. This is our wish behind the naming of the third sister ship.
