Space Seed Holdings Pays Courtesy Visit to OOEDO TOFU Lab
On August 23, 2024, Kengo Suzuki, CEO of Space Seed Holdings Ltd., visited OOEDO TOFU Lab in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a meeting with Mariko Ejima, CEO of Three Bijin Sisters Bdn Bhd. The visit focused on exploring the potential of soybeans to address diabetes and other health issues, along with a tour of the tofu production facility.
Mariko Ejima, who launched her business in November last year, shared her commitment to producing tofu from Japanese non-GMO soybeans, highlighting the benefits of fermentation in creating health-enhancing products. During their discussions, they delved into the growing concern of diabetes and other lifestyle-related diseases in Malaysia, considering innovative strategies such as cross-selling soybeans alongside supplements and soy milk-based sweets to promote better health.
The conversation also covered the utilization of okara, a byproduct of soybean processing, which is produced in quantities more than double that of the soybeans themselves. They discussed its applications in food production, focusing on its potential to contribute to both human health and environmental sustainability. Additionally, the tour revealed numerous factory innovations designed to efficiently produce high-quality tofu, offering valuable insights into the industry’s future.
The meeting resulted in a productive exchange of ideas, with both parties recognizing the shared potential of soybeans in addressing significant health challenges while fostering sustainable practices.
